How to register your GHIN number

How many rounds do I get?
You’ll have playing opportunity at each course for three 18 hole rounds. That is 12 regular rounds during the season and an added bonus of the qualifier.
When is the qualifier?
18 hole qualifiers will be held over three days. August 17, 18, and 19th. Your day of play will be determined on your seeding into flights based on your handicap at the time of registration.
When is registration?
Registration for the qualifier will be the evening of August 16th. More details will be provided through email.
Why do I need a GHIN handicap?
The GHIN system is in place to level out ability. To give everyone an equal shot at the tournament the GHIN handicap system is the best way to ensure this.
How are the flights determined?
Flights will be determined by your GHIN handicap number as well as your play in the qualifier.
When can I play my 12 rounds?
Your twelve rounds may be played form the time you’re registered with WyoCity OPEN through October 31st of 2018.
Is this open to all ages and genders?
Open is exactly that. We encourage all ages and genders to play. The only requirement is to register with WyoCity OPEN.
If I’m a member at one of the clubs, why do I want this card?
The card will allow you to play rounds at all four clubs in Casper. If you are a member, you may gift your three rounds to your home club to someone that you are playing a round with.
Do I have to be present when gifting a round?
Yes. You must play the round with your guest.
Do I have to show my card every time I want to play?
No. You will need to have your bag tag visible and register for your tee time ahead of time to play the round requested though. Just mention that you're part of WyoCity Open when making your tee time.
How are you tracking the rounds played?
When you make a tee time, you will be registered on the tee sheet and through the WyoCity OPEN system.
Do I have to play all 12 rounds to be eligible for the tournament?
No. Your rounds are considered practice rounds for the tournament and we highly encourage the play of all twelve rounds.
Can my child play?
If they are a registered card holder.
Do I have to make a tee time?
Yes. Tee times will be required to play your WyoCity OPEN rounds.
Can I gift my card to someone else?
No. You may buy the other person the card as a gift though if you have their GHIN number and all information requested.
What is the qualifier?
The qualifier will be 18 holes. The 20 low gross scores in each flight move though to the tournament rounds.
Why do I have to play in the qualifier?
500 cards will be sold. There will only be 120 players allowed into the tournament rounds. This means 380 people will be eliminated during the qualifier.
Why are 4 or less handicaps automatically in?
The only way that the championship flight will have a qualifier is if the flight is too large to accommodate of the final rounds.
If I play in the tournament, are there prizes involved?
Yes. Prizes will be awarded in each flight during the final tournament round.
Is there additional cost for the tournament?
You are automatically entered into the tournament/qualifier by registering through the WyoCity OPEN.
Are the rounds 18 or 9 holes?
Your rounds are all 18 hole rounds. That being said, if you make a tee time, it will be assumed that it is for 18 holes. There will be no splitting of the rounds unless approved by the pro-shop at the course requested.
What is included in the rounds?
The WyoCity OPEN registration is 12 greens fees for 18 holes.
If I don't use all my rounds before the tournament, can I still use them?
Yes. The expiration on all cards is October 31, 2018.
Do I have to pay for my cart?
If you choose to take a golf cart, that expense is yours.
What if I lose my bag tag?
Another may be re-issued to you at request through the website. There will be a $25 fee to replace the card.
Do I have to memorize my GHIN number to register for tee times?
Once in the system, your GHIN number will be associated with your full name. You can register for tee times with your first and last name. Mention you are registered through the WyoCity OPEN during the phone call to avoid confusion upon check in.
How does the GHIN system work for flights into the qualifier?
A minimum of 12 rounds must be registered into the system by August 15th, 2018. These rounds can be played anywhere. If the twelve rounds aren’t documented through GHIN, a 10% deduction will be assessed before play of the qualifier.
How are you eliminating the potential of sandbagging?
The rules and ethics committee will review qualifying rounds. You will be moved into flights based on your qualifying score. From there, each round will be monitored by the same committee each day and majority decision will be made based on posted scores.
